When you provide BlueSky-Church.com with information about yourself or anyone else, that information is safely stored in our secure database server. To best serve you, BlueSky-Church.com will share that information only with a carefully-selected outside company that we have hired to perform services for us, such as maintaining our online giving. We require that this outside company agrees, in writing, to keep confidential all information that we share with them and to use such information only to perform their obligations in their agreements with BlueSky-Church.com.
Security
We want your experiences at BlueSky-Church.com to be safe and secure and we are fully committed to this goal. Therefore, we use Verisign's 128 bit, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology enhanced with Server Gated Cryptography (SGC), the most robust encryption technology commercially available in the world, to encrypt your credit card number and other personal information as it travels over the internet from your computer to our secure server. SSL is a standard technology used by millions of other commercial e-commerce websites. You can always tell when a web page uses SSL since the “http” in your browser’s address box changes to “https” (the s stands for secure). Most browsers will also display a closed lock at the bottom of the page.
Using your credit card and/or bank account to place an online donation with BlueSky-Church.com is far safer than using your credit card or bank information in a store or over the phone. This is true for several reasons both technical and practical, but most notably because your credit card and/or bank account number is handled only by our book keeper at BlueSky-Church.com instead of many, as is potentially the case in a busy store or phone-sales line.
