1-2 Year Olds
We strive for Blue Sky's 1-2 year olds room to be a safe and fun environment where toddlers can grow and learn about God. Our 1-2 year olds start off by having fun playing, reading, and coloring with the other kids and the adult assistants in the room. In the midst of their program, the kids join their teacher on the rug where they share a brief Bible story, followed by singing a Bible song, and praying for the kids. Next, the kids move to the table for snack time. At the end of class, the toddlers return to free play until parents come and pick them up.

Will my toddler be safe?
When you put your child in the 1-2 year olds class, they will be received and cared for by teachers and assistants who we know and trust, and who have been thoroughly trained by our Kids' Program director or team leaders. We value the safety and welfare of our children. Each Kids' worker and committed volunteer at Blue Sky has been subject to a background check, as well as completing a thorough application. We also have procedures in place for the pick-up and drop-off of children to keep them safe. Toddlers may only be checked in and released to the parent with the identification sticker given to them upon registration. This sticker matches one your child wears on their back which has their name, parents' names, and allergy information.
When and how can I place my child in the 1-2 year olds class?
Our 1-2 years workers will be ready to welcome your child up to 20 minutes before the service begins.
- If it's your first time at Blue Sky, please go to the Kids' Host Station located at the East end of our main lobby. The Kids' Host will help direct you to the 1-2 years class, where you will register your child with the teacher.
- You may drop a diaper bag off with the teacher, as well as directions such allergy information. Please clearly label items in the diaper bag.
- Feel free to ask the teacher any questions and share any information that will help us learn about your child's specific needs.
- You will receive an identification sticker that is unique to your child and has their name and allergy information on it. This is required for pick-up after the service is over.
- A pager will be checked out to you. In the event that the workers need you to come back to the class during the service (if your child is excessively fussy, etc.), you will receive a vibrating page.
- Parents should return to the 1-2 year olds class to retrieve their child immediately following the service. This will help to reduce any apprehension your child feels as they await your return. The workers will retrieve your pager.
